The Benign Inescapability of One Mirror is a commissioned artwork for TransBefrienders and Rainbow Families SG. The artwork was created to be featured in the Dysphoria/Euphoria exhibition which took place from 11 to 20 November 2022, at Projector X: Picturehouse, The Cathay. The artwork was accredited to my previous name, Naaliyah Noor Daneen, which has now changed to Lily Nadine. The exhibition featured the works of 8 local trans and gender-diverse artists. The physical print of the artwork was sponsored by Rainbow Families SG and Heckin' Unicorn. Artwork is available for purchase.
"The mirror can take away, as much as it can provide. It can open a gateway into self-love and acceptance, or drag you into a pitfall of self-disgust and insecurity. The viewer of the mirror has to be one of strong will, as they need to distinguish between what is being seen and how it is viewed. While transgender people can find happiness in the mirror, for the majority of us, it is often accompanied by pain."
